Another one for animal lovers of all ages. Knowsley Safari Park is one of the best Safari parks in the UK with an impressive array of animals. Knowsley also offer Birds of prey and sea lion displays as well as hands on animal experiences with GiraffeS, Meerkats, Big Cats, Elephants and Rhinos. Blue Planet Aquarium

Blue Planet Aquarium is perfect for a family day out. With a huge array of fish and other sea life, Blue Planet is boy entertaining and educational, with an array of talks and feeds throughout the day for all ages to get involved in. Blue Planet also offers an outdoor play area, an Otter enclosure and Swimming with Shark experiences. Go-Ape Outdoor Centre

An outdoors adventure for all ages. There are several tree top experiences for different ages, a child friendly one and a more challenging one for the older members of the family. As well as the tree top experiences, there are segway tours and zip-line courses as well as a children’s play area. Jodrell Bank

The Jodrell Bank Observatory – originally the Jodrell Bank Experimental Station and from 1966 to 1999, the Nuffield Radio Astronomy Laboratories – hosts a number of radio telescopes, and is part of the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics at the University of Manchester.

Anderton Boat Lift

The Anderton Boat Lift is a two caisson lift lock near the village of Anderton, Cheshire, in North West England. It provides a 50-foot vertical link between two navigable waterways: the River Weaver and the Trent and Mersey Canal.


Lion Salt Works

The Lion Salt Works is the last remaining open pan salt works in Marston, near Northwich, Cheshire, England. It closed as a work in 1986 and is now preserved as a museum.

The herculean task of restoring, regenerating and replanting Bridgewater has been a labour of love for staff, volunteers and contractors.
